Elephant Rock (Aanappara) Invites Solitary Travelers
Have you ever touched the flying clouds and experienced the music of silence? If not, come to Elephant rock (Aanappara) in Ezhalloore near Thodupuzha, with the mind of a solitary traveler, ready to be lost f in the charming beauty of Mother Nature. Elephant Rock (Aanappara) invites all solitary travelers to its lap.
Unknown to Resort Sharks

At the Elephant Rock, the cool breeze would kiss you gently and white clouds whizz past murmuring something in an unknown language. Moreover, you would see the fog clad mountain tops of the Western Ghats around. The verdant green beauty and calmness of the place are still intact because the site has not so far been advertised in the media or gained the attention of resort sharks.
The Myth of Aanappara

The place got the name of Aanappara because of a large rock that looks like an elephant. Also, a local legend says that once upon a time, there was a Devi temple, and an elephant on heat destroyed the temple. Then the deity of the temple cursed the elephant, and it turned into rock. Thus, goes the legend. Aanappara is located on the border of Idukki and Ernakulam Districts. Take the route Muvattupuzha, Vazhakulam, Kalloorkkadu to reach here, if you are from Ernakulam side.
The most pleasant view from here is the sunrise and sunset is a tempting one. If you want it, then you have to tent here. Also, you can reach the top without hard trekking. So, it is accessible to the old and younger ones. The beauty of this hill station can’t be described in words, and you must experience it. Besides, it will take you to an ethereal beauty and would let you realize that life is beautiful. Video of my solo tenting and full moon night at Aanappara is given below.
