Wayanad and Idukki are two districts in Kerala that still have scenic beauty that tourists often do not even get a chance to see.
Thevarammedu, a hill station on the Tamil border, was brought me to Idukki in search of another place other than Munnar, Thekkady, Vagamon and Vattavada, which are regular routes in Idukki. It is a wonderful place full of people of Tamil hybrid nature, lush green hills, always blowing strong winds, cold to minus at night except in summer, and fog so thick that you can’t even see the elephant in front of you.
As read in the old kid stories, a place that makes the princess look like a kingdom of demons locked in a high castle. When I arrived here, the only question on my mind was why I could not get here earlier. There are many of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats. Ramakkalmedu and Chaturangapara, two important tourist destinations in Kerala, are also located in this region. However, Thevarammedu and Anakkaramedu are relatively few tourist destinations. Absolutely an agricultural area, this place will no doubt soon be filled with tourists, and the natural beauty of this place is so beautiful.
Most of the people living in this area own cardamom plantations or work in large cardamom plantations. It is reminiscent of the Himalayan valleys and has a lot of cattle grazing in the snow-covered valleys.
It would be a great crime to do so to ourselves if we simply see beautiful areas where there are not many footprints of such travellers. Spread across the forests of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Thevarammedu and Anakkaramedu forest areas were tented for five days in various hills without any contact with the outside world. If the first day’s camping was on a hill near Thevarammedu near Kerala, it shifted to Tamil Nadu later. Five degrees cold at night and strong winds are common in these mountains. The farmers who were grazing the cattle pitched tents and looked at us with a bit of amazement as we lived on the hill. The reason for their amazement is that there is always a lot of wild boar in these places, although there is always the annoyance of wild animals, and that sleeping at night in a tent is very dangerous. The truth of what they said came to light the next morning when they saw the mudslides in front of the tent.
Most of the tourists who visit this place in the area of the Western Ghats are Europeans.
Peaks like Kailasapara, which stands head and shoulders above many windmills, are a favourite destination for foreign adventurers. Unlike other tourist destinations in Kerala, Thevarammedu Hills is a place where foreign and domestic tourists can spend a few quiet days in harmony with nature. As such, there are now some farmhouses, homestays and some adventure tourism destinations for tourists to spend their days close to nature. Numerous wind turbines have been installed in these areas to take advantage of the ever-blowing winds. Looking at the body and body parts of Tamil Nadu, the number of wind turbines is increasing. Thevarammedu Hills near Nedumkandam in Idukki is an ideal destination for those who want a more off-road experience, camping, and a more adventurous travel experience. Five days of tenting, cooking, trekking and beautiful scenery have all been put into five videos on the YouTube channel.
Thevarammedu – A few things to keep in mind while preparing for the embankment trip.
It is not possible to reach here without local support.
The only way to connect with the outside world is to occasionally come with the wind.
This is a forest where wild boar, bear, buffalo, wild boar and some other wild animals are always present.

Tamil-Kerala Forest Department patrolling is frequent and therefore camping beyond Janta is likely to be illegal.
